In my oil, watercolour and mixed media work on paper, I hope to speak to the viewer, presenting a visual dialogue using the language of Art. Textures, colours, values, emphasis, movement, line, space, mass, are always developed to support theme, mood, and drama.
At this point in my career I am very interested in exploring and experimenting, contemplating the world around me, and the human condition. Sometimes the work leads me to exalt the simple things we live with and take for granted (my still life work), and sometimes to delve into expression of a more abstract nature, the relationship of emotion and memory (my prints), and most recently, to describe my personal responses to landscape and portraiture.
